Mike Jackson’s Hartland Photos:
WESTERN PARTS —COLOR VARIATIONS

Text & Photographs Copyright Mike Jackson 1998-2009

Hartland produced quite a variety of small pistols, many of which were lost in the grass or swept up in the vacuum over the years. While the silver weapons seemed fairly consistent over the years, the brown group of pistols and accessories varied a lot from burnt orange to almost maroon or wine colored.

You can see quite a color range just within this group of Jeffords style Winchesters.

Cochise Rifles seem to have the biggest variation of orange to brown colors, though the same can be said about the longrifles.

The “brown” pistols range from a milky brown to deep maroon, almost black.

The yellow accessories also have a range from pale yellow to a deeper golden yellow. Most Thunderbird bows are displayed with the bow hung across the figure’s body. With the constant pressure from the rubber band, they do seem to show up in quite a variety of shapes.

Many of the accessories were made over a period of six to eight years. Knowing that, it is easy to figure there would have been slight color changes as they mixed colors from year to year.
