That means horses "designed to have a rider". Those horses will have two holes in the bridle to allow plastic or chain reins (800 & 900 series have removeable reins). You can find some basic information about the horse breeds on these pages, but otherwise, they are not shown here.

Note: The small Cowboy and Cowgirl was never shown in the brochures. Several early brochures did show a Champ figure and horse, however it was actually one of the large 900 series sets.

Individual Horses 800 Series
Hartland packaged several of their horses, originally designed to have riders, for sale as individual horses—similar to the one shown above. The Just Horses page features some of those. This site does not show the “breed” horses, such as Arabians, Tenessee Walkers, Morgans and so forth. However, some of those can be found on the Dealer Sheets, Catalogs, and Brochures shown on the Literature & Ads Page.
