Mike Jackson’s Hartland Photos:
Non-Hartland Sets and Parts

Text & Photographs Copyright Mike Jackson 1998-2009

Marx Sets:
Marx produced a group of horse and riders in about the same scale as the Hartland sets at about the same sizes. Others include Zorro and a couple of different Indians. The photos to the left show Roy Rogers on Trigger along with a lot of accessories. Most of the accessories are made of soft rubber. The rifle and rope seem to be metallic blue in color and most of the rest are brown. You can also see a pair of silver guns at his feet but I can not identify the detailing. The figure is unpainted and does show up once in a while painted...but only by the collectors. I’ve never seen a factory painted version.
Thanks for the photos Duane!

Marx Zorro and Tornado (Thanks to Jack for the photos!)
I've seen this set quite a bit over the years but rarely with all the parts together. This set was old store stock and had never been opened until this collector bought it.

Marx (Col.)Rusty: (Thanks to Jack for the photos!)
Rusty was the young boy in the show "Rin-Tin-Tin" and as you can see, he is a fairly small figure on this horse. The front of the box lists a bunch of small accessory parts, and it shows drawings and descriptions of them on the back This one, like the Zorro set above is in mint condition. Most of the accessories are softer and more flexible than Hartland accessories.
