500 Series Mini Packaging

Most 500 Series sets probably came on the blister cards shown below. In some cases, they were sold as a packaged set of six, shown near the bottom. In the later years, the minis lost their individual figure names, and were sold as just “Cowboys, Gamblers, & Indians”. In some cases, they were sold loose in a bin at the toy stores. Some were also sold unpainted.

Sets on the Cards!
Carded Sets:
Besides the sets shown boxed in generic cardboard boxes at the top of the page, many of the Minis shipped on vacuum sealed display cards as shown here.

If you have other carded sets, please send a photo.

Thanks to Jack Canning for these photos.

Six Pack of Minis:
Thanks to Janice Shipley at International Toy Collectors Association for giving me permission to use the photo!

This catalog ad to the left shows the availablitiy of groupings of six Mini-Hartlands for $4.98. I don’t know if the set above came from Sears, but you can see the special shipping boxes and shipping carton and at least one shipping combination. Note Hardie on a Walker and Dillon on a Semi-Rearing horse.

This is a grouping of five of the six Series Two set of minis. Favor is missing here. The box labeling is different than the six shown above.

Original Historic Molds
This is a small section of each of the three molds used to create the Mini-Horse and Riders. (Photo courtesy of Hartland Collectibles, LLC). While not visible in this photo, the small Rifleman rifle was part of the hats mold.
