Sande Schneider's Nativity Pieces and Comments
|
| If you follow this site very closely, you will notice Sande Schneider's name quite often. She has been so helpful with information, photos, and text editing. Sande has a large, diverse collection of Western and Religious Hartland figuresplus a Breyer collection and no telling what else. So far, she has sent me a dozen or so e-mails related to the Nativity Sets, with subtle variations and special finds. The camel above is just one example! |

Sande's Comments:
Some of the Mary & Joseph figures have pearlized white areas. I have only found one set like that, and both that Mary & Joseph have brown hair.
Whenever I bought a set with the box, the stable was always at the top of the box, so that is how I've always stored mine.
I once bought a lone Hartland stable in a very flat box with Hartland tape on it. Interestingly, the hole in the back of the stable (for the light bulb) was only about the size of a dime. Most are about the size of quarter.
None of my smaller Nativity Set boxes have had cardboard dividers, however I'm not so sure they "never" had them.
The very first Hartland Nativity Set that I ever purchased complete-with-box came in an ordinary brown shipping box that had two layers of cardboard partitions inside of it..
I have an additional angel variation. It is one of the larger size ones, but its banner is white with black lettering, shown in the Gloria Angel section below.

Gloria Angels:
Some of these may be the same as shown above. Sande says the one on the left is painted white. It also has black paint on the raised lettering. It was found as a separate piece. The two on the right are from regular Nativity Sets.
