Cheyenne #818:
This set was in almost every kid’s collection. The gun tip is very delicate and seems to be broken off or repaired on most of the sets you find. Cheyenne had a special long knife with a very thin blade. Even though he is holding one gun in his hand, he shipped with one extra silver pistol. His special saddle is used only by Cheyenne with the possible exception of Gil Favor on some test runs. When Cheyenne originally appeared in the brochures, he was shown on a walking horse but to my knowledge, he was never actually shipped that way.
This “brown over white” Semi-Rearing Mane-Up chestnut horse was probably Cheyenne’s first production horse and he’s a beauty. This horse may have been used with Buffalo Bill at times, but I can’t say that I am certain of that right now.
The “white over brown” version of the Semi-Rearing chestnut horse seems to be the more common horse for Cheyenne. That horse could also be found with Jim Hardie and Buffalo Bill sets, so it is farily common.
This horse is quite similar to the “white over brown” version above—the the subtle difference is the slender tail and less wavy mane. It would have been used in the later years, and is not too common. I don't have a lot of documentation proving this horse was ever shipped with Cheyenne figures, but if Cheyenne was still in production in the later years, it would have been a very good possibility.

Cheyenne’s hat is unique with the “arrowheads” around the hatband, even if they don’t look much like arrowheads.

Cheyenne’s knife is fairly unique but I know of that knife also being included in a Jim Bowie set of sealed accessories. Cheyenne would have also been shipped with a silver pistol—possibly brown in the later years.
Cheyenne Saddle:
Cheyenne is one of the most common and popular sets but finding this saddle loose is fairly difficult. The color of the saddle matches his jacket. Most seem to have the punched cinch holes. No other set used a similar saddle, with the exception of Buffalo Bill who has a modified version of the saddle. I have heard a rumor of this saddle also being used with Gil Favor but I’ve never really seen that documented anywhere. It does look great with Gil Favor when he is on a rumored black horse.

Cheyenne was shipped in his own special box showing him sitting on a walking horse. Also, Cheyenne was originally shown on a walking version of the horse in the brochures, but was changed to the semi-rearing version for the later brochures. The tag resembled the TV show introduction screen, common to the Warner Brothers shows.
